"What's New Bride": a bride with a mental picture of what their wedding is all about until they see wedding trends that transpire into unusual wedding ideas.
At Hermann Hill, our Missouri weddings facility, the second largest group of brides after “Traditional” could be characterized as the “What’s New Bride.” Areas where these brides may change vision are from the time they book our venue until their wedding. They might have a different relationship with parents, introduce more personality into THEIR wedding, and sometimes make statements like “I don’t want my bridesmaids dressed like robots, all looking alike….
Our wedding coordinators frequently see “What’s New” Brides make changes in the following areas:
• Having a non-traditional rehearsal dinner
• Organizing a pre-wedding brunch or activity at one of the local wineries
• Wearing brightly colored shoes with her traditional white dress
• More organization for the wedding party processional, family seating, and recognition of special individuals by the officiant
• Vows that are non-standard, from relatively simple to very complex- with participation by the officiant and requiring planning to get the exact effect the bride wants
• Much more use of musicians and vocalists in their ceremony
• A first glance that might be at the waterfall instead of the gazebo.
• These brides put a high value on quality “alone time” with their future husband just prior to the ceremony. They often do a lot of photography with family and wedding party after their first glance
• No receiving line but some planned activity between the ceremony’s end and a shortened post-ceremony photo session
• Vegetarian and locally grown themes for flowers, appetizers, and buffet entrees
• Father of the bride or another family member frequently does the blessing and takes time to recognize certain family members
• Bridal party changes shoes or attire prior to entrance into reception
• Fire truck or other special vehicle parked outside pavilion for group photography
• Take down their head table following dinner to allow for more dance floor that spans a bigger portion of the whole pavilion
Our Missouri bridal consultants will help you make your wedding a one-of-a-kind celebration.
