Maid & Matron of Honor Duties and Responsibilities

What are the maid/matron of honor's duties and responsibilities on our Wedding Day?

One of the great things about Hermann Hill is the fact that we always provide you with two wedding coordinators.  They have already shared in the vision you have for your pre-ceremony day, wedding, and reception.   Your wedding coordinators also know how you want people to enter the chapel from the Narthex, where reserved seating is required for the reception, and how to do your first glance, if planned.

This leaves your maid or matron of honor to help you with the emotional side of your day.  She can relieve stress by suppressing the drama brought by those who just want a little attention.  Moreover, by assisting with making sure that all of your attendants understand the chapel's location, times for rehearsal, pictures, identifying who is giving a toast, and special moments, your maid and/or matron of honor can protect you from the stress that occurs without someone responsible for your concerns.  She should be there for you as a positive source of comfort and strength.

During the ceremony, it is the job of your maid or matron of honor to straighten your train as needed, to attend to your flowers, and, of course, to cry and to laugh with you.  She may choose to offer a special toast during the reception, along with the best man.  At the end of the reception, she and the best man may help collect all of the gifts brought by guests so that they can be safely stored in a pre-determined location.
