What are the best man's duties and responsibilities on our Wedding Day?
The best man's responsibilities intensify the day before your wedding day. He should be responsible to make sure that all of the groomsmen know where the chapel is located for rehearsal, the time they are expected to be there, and who is responsible for tux rental pick up. He will also help you determine who is going to give a toast at your reception and the amount of time each toast will take. (Your wedding coordinator will want this information.) Your best man must also be protective of the groom to make sure that activities the night prior to your wedding day do not leave you tired and not at your best.
On the day of the wedding, your best man will help keep the groomsmen focused, discuss with the officiant when specific responses are required during the ceremony (like providing the rings), and make sure that the groomsmen take their role as escorts very seriously. His toast at your reception should be practiced, positive and supportive. At the end of your reception, he should assist the maid/matron of honor with collecting the gifts brought by guests.

Also, the best man should keep the keys to the car, make sure the groom's tux gets back to the rental place, ensure the groom is not overly active at the bar so he can drive safely and basically make sure the groom is where he belongs when he is needed. One of the biggest things we see at our reception hall is a groom who is MIA... The groom needs to keep track of him!
